Based in Croatia. Working globally. Operational expertise in LNG, VLEC, and tanker management — from people who have done this work at sea.
Adriatic Marine Consulting provides senior advisory services across LNG and gas carrier operations, tanker commercial and fleet management, decarbonisation compliance, and maritime training. The firm is built on 40 years of combined sea-going and shore-based experience at the highest operational levels — covering LNG, VLEC (Very Large Ethane Carriers), LPG, crude, product, chemical, and methanol vessels.
Services are provided directly by the two principals, with no intermediaries. Clients receive the same level of engagement whether the assignment is a single bunkering oversight or a long-term fleet management advisory.
The firm works with shipping companies, charterers, energy companies, port operators, and maritime training centres across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
The practice covers six core areas: LNG bunkering and cargo operations advisory, tanker commercial and operational management, decarbonisation and regulatory compliance, charterparty and voyage management, due diligence and technical reviews, and training programmes for deck officers and shore staff.
A dedicated onboard advisory service is available for LNG and methanol bunkering operations — providing experienced presence on the vessel throughout the full bunkering sequence, from pre-operation planning through to post-operation debrief and documentation.
Training programmes are practical and scenario-based, designed around actual operational procedures rather than standard course syllabi. They can be delivered on site, on board, or at simulator facilities, and are tailored to the specific vessel type and crew level.
Operational advisory across LNG, tanker management, commercial operations, decarbonisation, and compliance.
Full-scope advisory from initial compatibility assessment through to live operation — including vessel readiness, procedure development, and hands-on crew preparation.
Commercial, operational, and technical oversight for tanker fleets — supporting operators with every aspect of vessel management under time charter.
Turning regulatory requirements into practical fleet strategies — from EU ETS reporting to CII improvement plans.
Expert support on the commercial side of tanker operations — analysis, claims, and voyage optimisation.
Independent assessments supporting acquisition decisions, operational reviews, and strategic planning.
Practical training designed and delivered by Master Mariners with direct operational experience — not theory courses.
We review the compatibility data, the bunkering plan, the SIMOPS, and the emergency shutdown procedures before anything starts. If something doesn't look right, we say so before the connection is made — not after.
We run the pre-bunkering meeting with your officers, the bunker supplier, and any other parties involved. We ensure everyone is aligned on the plan, communication protocols, and what to do if something changes.
We are on deck throughout the operation — monitoring flow rates, pressure, temperature, and connection integrity. We watch for early signs of issues and keep communication between the vessel, the supplier, and the port authority clear and structured.
After completion we run a structured debrief with the crew, document any observations or non-conformities, and produce a written report with recommendations where relevant.
This service provides an experienced senior consultant on the vessel for the duration of the LNG bunkering operation. It is intended for operators carrying out first bunkerings on a new route, using a new bunker supplier, or with a crew that has not previously handled LNG bunkering on that vessel type.
The scope covers the full sequence: pre-arrival review of compatibility data and the bunkering plan, attendance at the pre-bunkering meeting, monitoring of the operation from start to finish, and a structured debrief and written report on completion. Any concerns with the plan or the procedures are raised before the operation begins.
The consultant on site has supervised more than 50 LNG bunkering operations and is familiar with the range of vessel configurations, supplier arrangements, and port conditions that affect how an operation runs. The purpose is straightforward — to have someone present who has done this before and knows what to watch for.
The same service is available for methanol bunkering operations.
Delivered by Master Mariners with direct operational experience. Scenario-based, practical, and tailored to your fleet and crew level.
Covers the full bunkering sequence — pre-operation compatibility checks, pre-bunkering meetings, connection and monitoring procedures, emergency shutdown, disconnection, and post-operation documentation. Delivered on site or in a simulator environment. Scenario-based with practical exercises and individual sign-off.
Comprehensive training in LNG cargo handling — loading, discharging, boil-off management, cool-down and warm-up sequences, custody transfer, and emergency procedures. Aligned with IGF Code and SIGTTO guidance. Structured for officers moving to LNG vessels or refreshing existing knowledge.
Practical training covering voyage operations, charterparty obligations, laytime calculation, demurrage principles, EU ETS reporting requirements, and vessel performance monitoring. Targeted at ship operators, commercial teams, and management staff who need to understand how these areas interact in practice.
Structured assessment of officer competencies against operational and regulatory requirements — identifying gaps and producing individual development plans. Available as standalone assessments or integrated into broader SMS reviews. Delivered on site, on board, or remotely depending on the requirement.
Every engagement is handled directly by one or both principals. No junior staff, no subcontractors.

A Master Mariner Class I Unlimited with over 20 years in tanker operations and commercial shipping. Career background as a senior vessel operator supervisor with responsibility for the commercial, operational, and technical oversight of large tanker fleets under time charter. Extensive experience across crude, product, chemical, and methanol tankers on all major trading routes, with deep expertise in charterparty administration, demurrage resolution, vessel performance monitoring, and EU ETS compliance.
Vessel readiness assessment, bunkering procedure development, pre-bunkering crew training, and onboard advisory presence during the first three operations for a European container operator introducing LNG dual-fuel vessels. Covered pre-operation planning, live operational oversight, and post-operation debrief and documentation.
Designed and implemented a full EU ETS compliance framework for a mid-size tanker operator — monitoring plans, MRV procedures, crew guidance, and verification coordination across the fleet. Full compliance achieved from the first reporting period with no corrective actions required.
Audit of demurrage claim procedures for a product tanker operator — identified systematic gaps in timesheet management and documentation. Developed revised processes and trained the commercial team. Resulted in a material improvement in claim recovery and a significant reduction in claims lapsing.
Designed and delivered an LNG training programme for deck officers covering cargo operations, bunkering procedures, IGF Code requirements, and emergency scenarios. Assessment-based with individual competency sign-off. Included simulator sessions and onboard practical exercises.
